Wild boys wonder where is glory? Where is all your angels-
Characters: Steve, Clint
Setting: Avengers Tower
Content: Same old, same old
Summary: Captain America and Hawkeye reconnect after a year apart
There it was, that damn remote. Haha. Clint let out the barest of smiles as he allowed himself the luxury of sinking into the common room couch. Memories, huh? He recalled the argument oh so long ago. That day had begun innocently enough. Over the damn remote of all things. And some crazy news story with Magneto. That had been over a year ago. Now here he was back home. He'd been wondering when the old warhorse would come down here and this seemed like a good place as any for their meet and greet. The last time they had met had been during that fucking rogue Iron Man suit episode. It felt like a bad dream now, but back then it had been all too real. You never do get the image of dead civilians out of you're mind.
He recalled Cap asking him to make amends with the team and what had he done? Well, gone and fucked that order up. Clint thought about all the avoiding he'd been doing regarding Steve during his California tour. He'd been so angry then. But that was just barely breaking the surface. He dodn't save those people from that robot soon enough. What were they here for if they couldn't save people? That was the fucking point of it all. Not the parties or the politics. Back then one of their own had gone rogue. It's funny. Clint recalled Fury's statement of fact after the Hydra incident. He'd mentioned that he had assumed Clint had gone rogue. How funny it was that old Richie Rich himself had lost control. Or rather the knight in shining armor's armor had suddenly got other ideas.
Well it was time to put all that behind him. Although, he still held the slightest of grudges towards Tony, he didn't blame him. On that night they all had failed. Not just Iron Man. A team can only work when all it's members work together as a unit. When one member of the team fails, the team fails. That was a rule Steve had taught Clint on day one. A rule he'd been all too quick to forget. So Clint waited. He was ready to catch up with the old man. Maybe this rejoining idea of Wanda's might be for the best after all. There was only one person he could count on to tell him for sure or not. And that person should be down stairs any moment now.
