Had he still had his powers he would've smelled her before she even noticed him and he might have even been cheeky enough to call out to her before she could say anything. But, as it were, it was her that noticed him and he almost didn't hear his name because he wasn't used to having normal hearing. He was still staring at the leaves in complete awe when she strolled up to him.
When he lowered his eyes to the girl his heart thudded painfully in his chest. He thought the damned leaves were something to behold...
"Jesus christ you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my entire life," he breathed, completely taken back by how stunning she was. He recognized her simply by the southern twang to her words but seeing her and hearing her? It was making it hard for him to breathe.
It did occur to him after a moment of unabashed staring that she might find it very strange that suddenly he could see when he was so obviously blind before. How did he even begin to explain that? He didn't know what to say, wasn't sure he could say things right even if he had words anyway. He reached out for a curl of her golden hair and blinked owlishly at it, the cloudiness of his eyes gone and replaced by a sharp, clear blue color.
