Suspended Characters: Kitty, Billy and Daisy Setting: Laboratory F, S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ Content: Daisy is like a mini-Nick okay. Summary: A.R.M.O.R. gets decommissioned.
It was kind of weird in Lab F, so after Daisy had scoped it out she quickly excused herself and promised to come back sharply at meeting time. For a while, there had been, like, six new tech guys hanging around there 24/7, but now it had died down to just one, despondent looking soul that gave Daisy the creeps and make the whole space echoey and tomb-like with its single caretaker. She took this bought time to slip outside to the plaza for some fresh air where she might blend in with the tourists and no one would bug her.
It was cold that day, but it had been warm enough lately to melt the snow that had been slowly piling in banks along every vertical surface. Then it had been wet, dangerous puddles that forced anyone crossing Stark plaza along a bizarre, meandering route to avoid getting their ankles wet, but now it was all refrozen into patches of ice with the multitude of cigarette butts that had collected and been covered by the erstwhile snow now suspended under the surface. It was gross. Not much better than the lab. Sitting gingerly on the edge of a concrete box that, in the spring, would be packed with fresh soil and planted with new overfed, disturbingly saturated flowering bushes, Daisy tucked her cold hands into her armpits and stared at one of these icy patches intently, systematically bursting each of the cigarette ends with pinpoint vibrations that left the ice cracked like fireworks. It was out of the corner of her eye that she spotted what she thought was one of the agents she was supposed to be meeting with, and the diverted attention almost lost them an ear.
Maybe it was time to go in. Maybe that weirdo scientist guy had made himself scarce.
Daisy swept into Laboratory F, long, white coat that covered her uniform swinging behind her, attention focused on a file folder she flipped through and not letting on that she was pleased to have noticed two bodies present and neither of them with that suicidal energy that had been here before. "Kaplan and Pryde?" she asked, despite having their pictures to confirm in front of her, and when neither of them looked nervous about it she went on in a bored voice, "I'm Agent Johnson, I'm here to answer questions about the status of A.R.M.O.R. and your jobs."
