"Ah' wouldn' trust you to put a band aid on a scrapped knee, sugah", she said lightly, green eyes amused and she shook her head again. He was nuts if he thought she would fall for that line. "If ah' touched ya. You would be long gone", she said seriously, "Consciousness and all".
Rogue halted abruptly as the slightly drunken man stood in front of her, holding out his hands, and teasing her again. He was pushing his luck, wasn't he? "Get outta my way, Mr. Lebeau before ah' send ya flyin", she said, determined to keep her voice strong, but she failed and the light in her green eyes would surly give her away. Before she could even react, he pulled her to him and she stumbled thanks to too much drink and high heels. "What are you doin' now?" she asked, struggling against his hold on her. She almost fell over when he released her suddenly, but she caught herself against the wall, blinking in surprise when he ripped off his glasses and rattled off about his lines.
"Yeah, ah' bet you wrote the book on lines, sugah", she rolled her eyes in the near darkness. freezing when his hand disappeared and appeared again with the card. Now, what the hell was he going to do with that? Suddenly it glowed bright pink in the infinite darkness and reflected in her green eyes before he tossed it up. Her gaze never left the card until it exploded high above them and he was suddenly back at her side, his words ringing in her ears. Many things a touch can do. He was more right then he knew.
"You crazy", she said softly, shaking her head, and instantly freezing when his arm looped around her waist. He was serious about not fearing her, was he? "You make things pink. Interestin'" she was attempting a tease and slowly slipping out of his hold. "Didn' ah' tell ya? Keep your hands to yourself". Sighing, she watched him put on his glasses again and stir her towards the opening. "When ah' touch somethin' ah' take its life force. Its power if its like you and me", she admitted quietly. Caring and sharing, right?
