Wanda was thinking similar thoughts, but she'd long since realized that most of what they did together were the sort of things "couples" did. It went far beyond the sex. It was daily phone calls just to chat about nothing. Romantic dinners and casual lunches. Meeting up for coffee in the middle of the night when Wanda couldn't sleep. It was wasting a morning lounging in bed talking and laughing. Going out shopping for the apartment or visiting him at Columbia. Spending quiet afternoons reading, content just to be in his company. It was having someone to depend on absolutely. Shared experiences and understanding. The strangest feeling as if, despite their relatively short acquaintance, he knew some piece of her no one else ever could. It was feeling completely happy for the first time in recent memory.
Pausing in her work, Wanda turned and took Daimon's face in her hands to give him one of those slow sweet kisses that had very little to do with wanting to ravage him and much more with something near to infatuation. When she broke away from him she went back to mixing up the vegetables, grinning like a fool.
