Danny and his opponent didn't notice Cassie's arrival, but then a horrifying yowling sound caused them both to stop and look- in unison- in her direction.
They both erupted in protests aimed at Cassie- suddenly unified in outrage. "What was that about?" "Is he alright?" "We're having a conversation and this chick-" "I know, right?" "You okay Mark?"
Mark rubbed his neck and nodded glumly. Danny turned back to his former opponent "Sorry about your phone dude." "Well I needed to get a 5G anyway-" "Well looks like Stark Industries is paying for that" Danny said and they both started laughing as though they were old friends. "I'm Danny." "I'm Terry, the lightweight over here is Mark" "Mark, want us to call an ambulance?" Danny quipped. Mark frowned "Yeah yeah, laugh it up guys" he said rubbing his neck and eying Cassie with a mixture of annoyance and fear.
In the strange indefinable way that only guys seem to fully understand, the momentum had shifted from aggression to camaraderie. After a few more cracks about Danny's clothing, Terry's hair, and just how terrifying Cassie was even as she glared at them, the two men departed. Danny declined an offer to go get beers with these guys- at 10am- and gave Mark the name of a a good acupuncturist in Chinatown.
Waving at his two new friends as they left, he turned back to Cassie. A smile that may have been innocent or mischievous was plastered on his face. "Ahh, good times. You need to watch that temper though." He gave her a toothy grin "I'm here to see Tony."
