At the sound of the explosion, Daisy didn't flinch and curl in on herself; that came half a second later, when it sank in how many innocent children she'd just killed, and how this wasn't what she had signed up for, and how if she didn't do this, she would be in jail. That was why all of the horrible things in the world happened, wasn't it? The selfish desire to save your own fucked up ass. The earthquake that followed the explosion lasted for almost 30 seconds, shaking plates from cupboards and cracking driveways, rattling the garbage cans that Daisy hid between. When she finally looked up and the ground stopped shaking, she hurriedly wiped her face, smearing dust and make-up, and pushed herself from her crouch. It wouldn't do anyone any good waiting around here to be caught. She glanced around, trying to get her bearings, and sprinted towards the hill where she had been looking down on this unsuspecting scene minutes ago.
