A small laugh betrayed her and she waited until Jean was at her side to say, "Of course Ah am, darlin'!" Picking up her shopping bags, she began to lead the way through the crowd until they were out on the street. Paige really wasn't lying when she said the place she was staying was just a walk away, and pointed at the tall New York hotel building glowing with lights just across the street. With a reassuring smile, Paige winked at her friend and then crossed the street to get to the glass doors.
"Well here we are," she beamed, taking Jean through the lobby alive with holiday decor and people. They took the elevator and Paige giggled about how she'd felt like the biggest kid after pushing all the buttons and going up and down every floor-level the night she checked-in. She and Jean might have to do that once, she thought, before she'd have to go, definitely. Once they were on her floor, the doors slid open and she stepped out, walking over only a few until reaching her room.
"The room service is great too if ya want anything," Paige offered, unlocking the door and pushing it open to let her in.
