"Aww, lucky", the red head chirped back and let go of the other girl's hands in an effort to stifle her own fit of giggles in the white palm. Jean hadn't kissed anyone since Speed and well, to say she missed it would be an understatement. The red head kind of liked having a special someone in her life, but until someone fell into her lap again, she was content with all the friends she could find, including the bouncing blond before her. Besides, Jean needed to be more controlled in handling her abilities before she could ever swear to protect another person again. Even if he did come back now, she would probably be leery of a relationship with him because she didn't want to hurt him or anyone ever again.
Seeing Paige's blue eyes fall on the group of mutants watching Jean, she froze and easily turned in her friend's grip. What could she tell her? She attempted to come up with something, anything to tell the southern girl which did not involve murder and attempted murder of humans and mutants alike. Unfortunately, the blond was already questioning her and all she could do was nod in agreement. "Yeah, they were at the mansion with us. I guess they had shopping too or something", she explained lamely.
