I didn't know if Jean would know Paige, but since she is an X-Men I figured they may have history
After everything that had happened since October, the red head had not left cell and then mansion without someone to watch her. It was horrible to be constantly under lock and key, but in truth, Jean was grateful she wasn't in worse conditions. Days and weeks of practicing control wore her out completely, but it wasn't what kept her powers very much on a leash. Professor Xavier had issued the blocks once more upon certain areas of her abilities. It limited her greatly in what she could and could not do. However, she felt a horse pawing at the starting gate of a race. She was eager to be set free again.
Part of her wanted to break the bonds and prove she could handle it all, but all she could see was disappointment on the faces of those she loved and it was enough to shut that idea down. Kitty couldn't handle anymore from her and neither could the Professor. He had faith in her, but only so much. Surely, those ties would break eventually?
Though he had been hesitant, Jean had managed to talk him into letting her out of the mansion for some Christmas shopping. Granted there was a pack of mutants from the school following her around at a distance just in case she decided to go haywire again. It was something she would have to put up with, but it still bothered her to no end.
As she exited one of the high end clothing stores, she caught sight of the literally drooling blond in front of another shop window and immediately a bright smile formed on her face. Paige! She felt like she hadn't seen her in ages! Walking quickly through the crowd, she grabbed the girl from behind in a tight hug.
"Paige!" she said gleefully, beaming at the other girl with excited green eyes. This was too perfect.
