It was cold enough, curled up with a book on a couch, that Wanda endeavored to experiment with something warm to drink in the kitchen, something simple- like cake was supposed to have been simple- but she was sure even she couldn't ruin hot chocolate. Peppermint hot chocolate at that, and nothing put her in a holiday spirit quite like peppermint. When the milk boiled without catching fire and the cocoa and bits of candy cane melted and mixed Wanda dared to take a sip and was absolutely shocked at her success. It was a Christmas miracle and obviously it had to be shared with someone.
Wanda prepared a second cup (tasting it of course and it was still not terrible!) and then- after a query from JARVIS- found that at this exact moment the penthouse was surprisingly empty. Except for Tony who (further surprise) was actually in his room instead of the garage. Well, she could always make more hot chocolate for whoever else decided to turn up from the chill outside and in the meantime she was knocking on Tony's bedroom door- she'd only left his room an hour ago herself- and trying to keep from looking too excited with her very small accomplishment. Feats of magical strength were par for the course, but Wanda was sure that she deserved a parade for this perfect and entirely drinkable mug of chocolate.
