Well the only blame you cast is your own Characters: Happy & Pepper Setting: Doctor’s office in NYC Content: Nothing bad Summary: Happy and Pepper receive some unsettling news about their baby
He was late, and Happy had promised he’d be here this time (even though he’d promised it last month too and had missed that one but Pepper was being surprisingly understanding given that her current condition was technically his fault). He’d be damned if he would miss out on the ultrasound this time, come hell or high water or super villains or giant tentacle sea creatures or the Bronx blowing up. It had been the second to last disaster that had him zooming high over traffic in the Iron Man to land on the top level of a garage where he struggled out of the armor and then sent it on its way, back to the Avengers tower on autopilot. He was twenty minutes late, bursting into the doctor’s office and frantically asking the receptionist what room Virginia Potts was in. Happy made it into the examination room just as the doctor was putting the ultrasound gel on Pepper’s protruding belly. The doctor gave him a look and he just smiled sheepishly and quietly shut the door behind him as he came up to take Pepper’s hand. “Sorry, doll,” he murmured, “Uh, real bad traffic.” He raised his eyebrows, hoping she’d realize it was Iron Man Business and forgive him for his lateness. At least he was here, better late than never.
