She'd heard through the grapevine that Pete was around. That is, Kitty heard that some grouchy old englishman with a cigarette permenantly attached to his fingers (these were words of the interns, mind you) had come back being an obnoxious pain in everyone's ass. And at first, she shrugged it off. It couldn't have been the same obnoxious pain in the ass that she'd been in love it. What were the chances of that? Scaringly high, apparently, as the more information she got, the tighter the pieces fit, and the easier it was to conclude that Pete Wisdom was back.
Despite it all, she convinced herself to be unconvinced until she heard from a credible source. So she'd gone and asked Director Fury and it was only after doing so that she allowed it all to sink in. To panic a little. Afterall, Kitty hadn't planned for the possibility of seeing him again. And not knowing if today was the day that she was going to run into him was just a tad unnerving. Maybe it would've been easier to seek him out and get it over with - she even knew where his office was - but Kitty wasn't willing to do that.
She watched as a bag of Doritos dropped from the vending machine before reaching into the slot to grab it. Technically, Kitty didn't have to be there, afterall it was a Sunday, but after spending a few morning hours at the dance studio, she figured she'd come in and get a head start on a little bit of Monday's work, or at the very least try to convince someone to let her update the computer systems. So far she'd been successful in accomplishing these things, but now she was taking a small break before she went off looking for something else to do.
Slinging the case that held her own personal laptop over her shoulder, tearing open her bag as she ambled over to a table and sat, facing the door. Popping a chip in her mouth, Kitty pulled out her laptop and set it up, making a mental note to go down to the laboratory to talk to her group's scientist about a few ideas she had on her mind.
