That seemed to get Tony's attention. Almost. His crooked grin faded, leaving him staring at Steve with betrayal he just had to yield to. He hadn't been on Tony's side for a long time. Since Tony had given up the Iron Man. He was just waiting for an excuse to break this loop. But Tony knew that. His grin returned, and his laugh, icy and a little hysterical then, and he gave Steve a good push to give them both some space. That made Tony stumble, still jerking his arm in Steve's hold, weakly and expecting Steve to just relent.
Embarrassing himself, sure, what else was new? More importantly, what did that have to do with flawless, untouchable Captain America? "Go on then," Tony challenged, hardly believing Steve would lower himself to physically dragging Tony away when he wouldn't even have a little dance. One of those was actually fun and the other was just uncomfortable for everyone. Steve could just walk out and save them all the trouble. Freedom should have included the freedom not to have your night ruined by the Decency Police, shouldn't it?
