"I do," Tony protested in a purr that he was sure even he couldn't really hear, so he had to repeat it at least four times until he got the volume right. By then, he was leaning against Happy's shoulder again, giving a reassuring pat to his chest with every reiteration until Tony found his tie. That, Tony gave a gentle tug, and he pouted as he said, "Just not right now." Which was totally fair, because this was the last place on earth they should expect to maintain a conversation, let alone a serious one where Happy willfully forgets that he was supposed to be celebrating the engagement he insisted was so terribly important and real. People were so fucking difficult. Tony liked Happy better when he didn't talk as much.
He took a step back, steadied, then another, flipping Happy's tie up before letting his arm drop with dead weight and giving a little wave with three fingers peeled away from his glass. "Later, I gotta make a speech, you have to find Pepper because she can't miss this, this is a toast, okay? You promise?"
