Susan had been surprised to find a invitation to the posh party in her inbox a couple mornings ago. Despite the fact that she was bogged down with work, the blond decided to go and step out of the office and the suffocation of stress for at least a night. However, upon arriving at the place, she immediately missed her team, especially Reed, who would have been able to sympathize with all the awkwardness she felt at suddenly being among the rich and famous. Most of these people had probably been popular in high school or at least acceptable. She felt her nerd personality more than ever now.
Dressed in a light blue dress with heels that she deemed to high-even though they weren't in all reality-Susan hovered near the opening of the ballroom, drink in hand and weak attempts at conversation for all her passed. Some were people she worked with and others were just faces and names that she would forget by the end of the night. Folding a piece of golden hair behind her ear, she made her way over to a table and sank down, hands enfolding her tall glass as she slipped off the edge, flushing as she saw the lipstick smeared on the edge. Why couldn't everything just stay put?
