'When.' Of course he would ask "When?" These people were so obsessed with when things happened, marking all of their days with so many numbers. Their flat television programs and moving pictures all had a set time limit. They did certain things on certain days that they did not do on others. They were slaves to the sun, different parts of their world experiencing day while the other part experienced night. How was Crystal to explain when this had happened when she wasn't quite sure of it herself?
"I do not know when it happened," Crystal admitted. "My people do not view time as you do, and I believe that a longer period of time has passed for me than it has for Pietro. I set my arrival for the closest moment I could get to when he returned to your world but am not quite sure how many of your days passed since then. Your son told me about your months and years, but they are still confusing to me. Oh!" Suddenly she broke into a smile and tapped the watch-like device on her wrist a few times. "I am certain I have a recording where Pietro speaks of his 'age'. I found the matter most amusing. Age helps with being able to discover when this happened in your time, does it not?"
