Tony managed to trap his giggles in his fist, pressing his knuckles to his lips to keep Susan's laugh from infecting him into exhausted hysterics. It had been a tense climb and it did feel good to get it out, though. Anyway, if she stuck with Richards, Tony was fairly certain their honeymoon wouldn't be so different; the guy couldn't help himself. Not that it was Tony's place to remind Sue of that, or that it was a particularly terrible quality for a guy to have, so he just insisted, "Come on, when was the last time Reed took you swimming?" like they were looking down into a warm, inviting pool full of rose petals. There was some shuffling and clicking in the dark followed by something heavy, probably Tony's bag, carelessly hitting the rock ledge, as he released himself from the climbing gear. Freed, and a little unsteady on the gouged earth, he knelt over the water and try to stretch enough to test it with his fingers. Not quite close enough. "It's not bad," he encouraged anyway as he sat up again, trying to make out Susan's form with just the gentle kiss of gold in the murk.
