Susan attempted to conceal the flush with a curtain of blond hair. However, he kept talking to her and she couldn't remain unprofessional forever (even if he was doing so himself) and she turned back to him. He was waiting for her approval on the first statement and so she gave nod before he was off again, his words frightening her.
The poverty she was aware of, but a plague was a new development and so she leaned towards him, chin in between two tentative fingers and blue eyes focused upon his face and lips as he spoke the details she needed to hear.
"So, once they leave the area they get better...but in this place", she gestured at the dead town through the window with a slender hand before continuing, "they die of a plague. And it's not nuclear..." she trailed off, her genius suddenly put on overdrive. "It reminds be of The Black Death centuries ago in England. Once removed from the area, there was less chance of catching the virus...of course once you had it it wouldn't matter...still, do you have any samples from the area on the wildlife? Dirt?" she asked, though she figured that if he did they had already been overturned and dug through by now.
