"I'm fine," she answered, her gaze flicking to Tony for a moment and only her eyes belied her confusion at his entrance and unsolicited display of affection. He did not hold her attention long as she contemplated the images Crystal had shown her and the story she'd recounted.
Any sympathy Crystal may have garnered was overshadowed by the fact that, if this story were true, it was to Wanda yet another betrayal at the hands of her brother. It was a petty sentiment, she realized, but even that knowledge did not lessen her hurt or make her any less disturbed. It was the sort of news that she would have taken infinitely better had it come from Pietro himself, but he had never bothered to tell her. He was no longer here to tell her, even if he'd ever planned to.
The appearance of Tony only bolstered Wanda's resolve to remain unfazed in the face of this new strangeness and not to crumble before a possible lie. If someone wanted to hurt Wanda, the easiest way to do that was by using her brother, and a lot of people knew that. This woman might know that. The best course of action Wanda could take to handle this would be to remain callous and unperturbed though the circumstances would generally have dictated she act just the opposite.
The videos were compelling evidence, the explanation of erased memories was viable, but it could all just as easily be a clever ruse and finally Wanda shrugged. "Again, Miss Amaquelin, particular circumstances and my current loyalties make it difficult for me to just give you the location of my brother. I'm sorry."
