"Hey." Jessica placed a gentle albeit firm hand on her shoulder, staring into Jean's eyes with her own bright green hues. "It's okay." She offered her a smile and drew away, kneeling at the fallen villain's side to check his pulse. Not dead, but the Avenger suspected he was going to be suffering the next few days, at the very least. She pulled out her phone and called the ambulance and spoke to them for probably less than a minute before she hoisted him over her shoulder and side-glanced her young partner to follow her - they still had the initially injured person to worry about now.
Once they were on the other side of the street, Jessica laid the man back down. "Watch him," she instructed gently. "I'll be right back." Slipping into the large puncture made through the window, she hurried to the body, broken and limp and bloodied against a split table. Brows furrowed, she surveyed him, checking for any vital sign of life. There was none. At first she thought it was the stab wound that killed him, but upon closer inspection, it was the broken neck that sealed his fate and she frowned because that meant that they wouldn't have been able to safe him regardless.
With a quiet sigh, Jessica shook her head and stepped out of the shop just as the ambulance began to sound. "You alright?" She asked the girl, breaking her own silence.
