Wandering alone at night? Not the smartest idea that the young red head had today, but then again if she had been thinking at all, she would have made sure to bring a map. Now she was facing the consequences of leaping before looking and the results were dark alleys and homeless people. She caught more then a few looking at her with curious eyes, some even with desire smoldering in the pupils, but she made sure to keep them away, projecting instead the haunting image of a large, burly man instead. It was a trick of the mind really or theirs rather, but for the moment, it had kept her safe...until she heard shuffling coming from the alley ahead.
This momentary distraction left her reeling and her mental projection shattered, leaving a simple teenager in it's place. Though she was by far one of the more dangerous things out there, she was as till human and darted the other way quickly, glancing over her shoulder just as her petite frame collided with a stranger in black. Jean fell to the ground in a small heap, her force field already up even as she lifted her gaze and saw it was a woman, hair barely distinguishable in the night around them. It was too late to project the image and so she was left to only push herself up and apologize.
"I'm sorry. I should have been watching where I was going..." she attempted a weak smile, heart hammering away in her chest and every fiber electrified to move in an instant should this woman attempt to lay a hand upon her.
