So really, it should've come as no surprise when she filled half a measuring cup with baking soda and the other half with vinegar, when the mixture bubbled over all over the counter to drip on the floor. Wanda gave a little strangled whine of consternation and tipped the roiling mixture into the bowl of ingredients. She handed the spoon over to Jessica to let her stir as she tried to sop up the mess. When that was finished, Wanda looked over the recipe again. Apparently they needed two pans, which made sense since the cake was supposed to be layered. She went in search of another pan to match the first and came up with a deep rectangular baking pan. The cake would be awkward and two different shapes, but they would make it work.
