Iron Man's grip tightened, his other hand steadying Quicksilver under the other arm. The kid looked beat up from the crash, but Iron Man was certain he had legs built to withstand worse than that. Otherwise, that was one serious design flaw. The threatening whine of a repulsor charge was clear in this desert alley, the weapon pressed against Quicksilver's ribs certain to be crippling no matter how low the charge. Quicksilver seemed the kind of guy to think that kind of trick would work; playing on sympathy then bolting.
The pain on Quicksilver's face, that was difficult to immitate, though. There was a beat of silence after the whine, then Iron Man said, "You crossed the ocean like that."
