"Recovery" and "mourning" were perfect words to describe the state of the world during the preceding week. Recovery for the ravaged planet earth and its harrowed people, mourning for those they'd lost. The Bugs might have been gone- once the Queen was dead, her spawn the world over rapidly decomposed- but that didn't mean there wasn't destruction and death and Russian troops still to contend with. The last of these, it turned out, had been subjected widely to mind-control drugs and the citizens of Russia itself were as terrified as the rest of the globe. Already, those long in government who had been pushed out of the new regime were retaking control and doing their best to make amends. World leaders were granting amnesty, giving the fact that this was all a convoluted ploy of the nefarious Red Skull, and Russia was providing what aid it could to battle and disaster torn nations.
The city of New York had its own problems to attend to and its super heroes were in the thick of things. It was one of the worst catastrophes New York had faced and few parts of the city escaped the three day assault unscathed. Wanda, now installed once more in the Avengers Tower, had very little time to enjoy her homecoming as she'd rarely been there since Monday. Naps here and there and quick meals and she was out again to help where ever she was needed. This evening she found herself in a surprising lull- there was nothing immediate she was needed for- so she teleported to the Tower and decided that dinner and a long bath were definitely in order. She kept her phone and her Avengers comm device on loud because, of course, if something could go wrong it invariably would. With this pessimistic though lurking in her mind she made her way into the kitchen and began rifling through the refrigerator.
