As was generally the case in any disaster, if it could worse it would, and this was no exception. The ground began to quake and piles of rubble shifted dangerously. Buildings still standing groaned under this latest onslaught. For the people it was terrifying, for those still trapped it was unimaginable. The shaking continued, violently, for what seemed an eternity, and many of those still intact buildings came crashing down, oblivious to the trapped or the rescuers within them.
