Being denied wasn't something Tony would ever choose to get used to. He gave Nick a tight smile and nodded, pressing his lips together. The sweat on them made them salty, and Tony sucked in a deep breath, tasting the heavy heat that had been steadily mounting since the explosion, and glanced up once more like he might be able to spot the light from outside this time. That was the only thing that might have let Nick off the hook, but he was very much still on it. "It's okay, you can tell me later," he said, still looking up. It was all breathy and careless until he glanced back to Nick for a whisper that only echoed in their already tight space; "But Billy probably knows all about taking it in the eye, I bet he would be sympathetic."
