Re: Meanwhile~ Avengers Tower. DONK DONK.
While he did his best, Tony found it difficult to save face in this situation, scrambling to his feet beside Barton after Nick had already appeared to take in the scene. The whole attack was uncalled for, but that last shove was particularly dirty, dizzying Tony with a unhealthy bounce of his skull on the marble to raise a hand to his head with a grimace while Nick made his attempt to assess what he walked into. Meanwhile, Tony assessed that he at least wasn't bleeding.
As Nick explained and Tony avoided looking at Hawkeye, he only gave the Director cursory glances to assure him he was still listening as he examined the damage of the wine on his once pristine white shirt, and shook out his hand where it dripped from his fingertips and left a streaky smear down his forearm. "Sorry," he answered for them both, not sounding particularly apologetic in the least, "but you caught Hawkeye on his break. I can give you a hand, though." His focus was raised to Nick then, but Tony was gingerly testing his ribs where Clint had landed his blow and yet the flinch that the pressure brought on was dampened by his smirking pride. That didn't stop him from trying to inconspicuously put a little more distance between himself and the rabid sharpshooter. "What's the nearest station?" he pressed on, raising his voice with dutiful determination to try to preempt any of Barton's protests.
