It wasn't strictly necessary for Tony to stand to take up his own coffee cup, daintily by the rim and leaving the saucer behind while he continued the motion to end up seated next to Sue on the arm of her chair. That was an issue he was sure he had only seen an edge of, and he couldn't be certain Sue would leave feeling any less worthless, but there was a whole battery of issues to cover. For instance, some Sue didn't even need to know the complications of, like how he wasn't really the person she had to be asking about her involvement with the Avengers. Everyone else seemed to realize it was obviously Nick fucking Fury.
Stretching an arm along the back of the chair behind Sue, Tony kept his coffee balanced on his knee and had to restrict his restless fidgeting to the fingers curling by Sue's shoulder as he spoke. "Look, you know you're always going to be the guys we call when we need an extra hand, so you know you're already on unofficial Avengers retainer," he pointed out, and raised his eyebrows to encourage her to finish the thought for him. If that wasn't enough, what did she mean by 'nothing crazy, not all the time'? She didn't have to soften the presentation for him, if that's what it was. He was a well known supported of asking directly for what you wanted.
