Jessica looked away then, eyes following two passing cars. "Trust your instincts first," she said. "If you can do that, you'll have a better chance at filtering out the assholes." She was no expert advice-giver, for all she knew, what she just spouted was a bunch of crappy as hell wisdom, but to be honest, that was one thing she wished someone would have told her when she was younger - to trust her instincts. Maybe then she'd have been smart enough to take a different path, but then again...who really knew?
She sighed a little, rearing her focus on Ro once more. What was her story anyway? She hadn't cared to ask before, but now she really wondered. Jessica was pretty damn familiar with that feeling of confusion and uncertainty, she knew what it felt like to feel lost and alone, and she wondered if that was this girl's case. Hm.
