"Oh right, I forgot, you were busy. Please don't let me interrupt your exercise." Danny held up his hands in mock apology. "One question though, whats the point of doing pushups if you've got super strength? I mean, unless lightweight for gamma-ladies is Twenty tons. In which case I need the name of your tailor, because that jumpsuit is very slimming."
The joshing came naturally with Danvers, as Danny began to relate her to other women warriors he'd known. Whether it was in the USAF or a chauvinist Ju Jitsu school, the first thing a female developed was an ability to take and return insults. They were the bread and butter of these male fraternities, and anyone who couldn't deal with it wasn't going to fit in. Eventually, the jokes would become a sign of respect- a way to demonstrate that this woman was one of the boys, and wasn't phased no matter what was thrown at her.
He put up his hands bouncing around lightly. "Common Grumpy Spice, you've spent all week seeing how hard you can hit- lets see if you can control all that girl power you've got going on, sister."
Not sure what I'm doing, but damn-it if she doesn't need a laugh. And without any booze around, it looks like the only way that's gonna happen is by her punching me through the wall.
He switched from a left to right stance, then back again, bouncing around, moving his hands theatrically. "Just give me a love tap, okay? We aren't all celibate like yourself- some of us care about our looks..."He smiled rakishly, his teeth shining.
