Characters: Jack Russell, Nick Fury
Setting: Jack Russell's apartment in Hell's Kitchen
Content: PG-13, most likely due to language
Summary: Jack has recently become aware that someone is following him, and being the paranoid nut-job he is, he's not too pleased about it. Unfortunately for Jack, his "stalker" isn't going away so easily, considering that it is Nick Fury who is on his trail, trying to decide whether or not to offer Jack a position with the Alternate Reality Monitoring and Operational Response branch of S.H.I.E.L.D.
With every day, the moon shrunk, sliver by sliver. This normally didn't bother Jack all that much, considering the full moon was when he usually lost control, but what the moon did give him were uncannily sharp senses, which he could have really used at that moment. The cluttered alleys of Hell's Kitchen didn't usually cause this much unease, but today... Today something was different. Someone was following him.
He made his way to the apartment building, and shuffled cautiously up the stairs to the third floor. Jack turned his key and stepped in to the threadbare hell he had been living in since 1999. Half-hearted screams and protests could be heard through the walls as Jack slammed the door a little too loudly, but no one really cared. They were just going through the motions.
After giving the apartment a quick once-over, much the same way a child looks under their bed for monsters, Jack was satisfied that he was alone. He made his way into the kitchen, picked up a box of somewhat aged-looking Chinese take-out and poked a pair of chopsticks into it.
