"Yeah, I got this," Lorna called back. It didn't particularly matter if Pietro heard her or not.
The students would likely be familiar with Lorna as she was when she trained in the mansion last fall: Awkward and with very little control. Which, if she was still that bad, would mean she was the lesser threat. But for the past few months she'd been training with Magneto. She'd gotten a lot better since then.
As soon as the groups split up and Pietro dashed off, Lorna allowed herself to polarize and push away from the ground. The ball bearings stored in the small pocket of her backpack lifted out and began their rotation around her like fifty-odd tiny moons that spun just fast enough to deflect most objects or power blasts that might come her way as well as tear into a person that tried to jump her. Lorna's own personal zone or protection... twenty feet off the ground.
The next thing that happened was that metal fence twisted and tore itself apart until it was no longer a woven fence, but yards upon yards of thick metal wire all crackling with a slight bit of electricity. Lorna controlled electromagnetic forces after all. Her metal manipulation was just a little more shocking than Daddy's.
