"Always will," Tony agreed. To accept anything less than the entire room's full attention would be to undersell himself, after all. Something else being more interesting, well, that just made Tony uncomfortable. He watched Rhodey out of the corner of his eye as he sipped from his own glass delicately, waiting for that disapproving glare he was getting so used to lately and that people who wore dogtags appeared to be specifically trained in. Steve's was remarkably subtle, Nick's was pointedly not, and Tony hadn't seen much of either of them for weeks. Tony would less readily admit that he hadn't seen much of his sponsor, either.
"Don't say 'sore'," he continued when he had licked his lips, rolling his shoulders like he could feel it and casting off the imagery with a flick of his wrist, "I prefer 'magnetic'." Only when he finally turned to his friend did he grin and offer his free hand, not for a shake but to welcome him into a hug. Unless, of course, that would embarrass him in front of his new buddies. Tony sure hoped so.
