"You want me to wrap you up and hand you off to S.H.I.E.L.D. right now?" It was a challenge to be heard over the screeching of the fire alarm, but Tony's focus was not split by it. He lingered by the door where he had come in from the stairwell, the elevators locked and the lights dimmed in the face of emergency, unsure if that had been Iron Man's call or Quicksilver's meddling. It would alert the fire department, though, and the police, and they would be waiting to hear how Tony had saved them a heap of trouble.
"Don't be stupid," he instructed, shifting away from the exit, inviting Quicksilver to take advantage of it and never taking his eyes off of him. The terrorist could make his escape and take the chance to reconsider his actions on his own, without anyone at S.H.I.E.L.D. humiliating and berating him. Tony could be merciful like that. It just happened to give him the opportunity to keep this building from blowing up and sending the fully armed Avengers after Quicksilver to take him out without a struggle. Putting more distance between himself and the door to freedom, Tony started carefully towards Quicksilver and his bomb, gaze just flicking towards the latter. It wasn't elaborate. It was elegant in its simplicity. He only needed a minute with it.
