Her smack took Tony by surprise, making him flinch and laugh at it and her combative tone, like she felt attacked because Tony didn't care enough about her lack of specific devotion. It wasn't like his question was subversive or barbed, she was welcome to not pray as much as she wanted to. Getting combative when he wasn't responding with the right enthusiasm seemed to be a theme, though. He quickly drained and dropped his drink before he spilled it down his front when she decided do that again for laughing at her, and his hand on her arm became a hold to keep hers to his chest.
"Sure, fine, I get it," he tried to assure Wanda as she spoke, still smirking at her being so adamant when she didn't even have the right argument. It was the lack of proof that was important, not convincing yourself for reassurance that no proof was inconclusive. "Sorry for asking," he added, shifting and leaning with his free hand planted beside her to seal the apology, but caught by her distraction and followed her eyeline instead. "What?" he had to ask, pulling her hand from his chest and leaning away again to touch the implant himself, trying to see what was broken.
