During her little foray into his mind the girl asked whether she ought to put herself somewhere in his son's memory. Clever. Useful. Now Pietro had a "friend" who could report to Magnus, and Magnus had an excuse to keep the girl around a little longer. It wasn't even a complete lie- Magnus' children had met the girl when she visited with her father years before, he'd told them of her in generalities whenever he received news from Jason about his daughters. He supposed it was only an accident of opportunity that kept Wyngarde and his daughters away from the island at all.
Magnus consented, suggesting that the best period for their "introduction" would have been the year in which his sister was away, that way it would remove any future liability in the event that Pietro and Wanda communicated and he felt the need to mention their "mutual friend." His children had always been jealous of the other's friends and he couldn't imagine much had changed in their adulthood, still more could he fathom Wanda having any desire to discuss life on Genosha with her brother. Most likely, Wanda neither knew nor cared to know of Pietro's Brotherhood connections.
"Miss Wyngarde heard of your return and hastened to see you," Magnus explained. "And at her pleading, I do think I am obliged to end your punishment earlier than anticipated." He watched Pietro carefully, waiting to see what his reaction might be.
