Moira was more than happy to stop dancing around her purpose. She preferred it, really. Lifting her head to look him in the eyes, she answered him with straightforward honesty.
"I want an alliance. I'm not a power player in politics, I'm a diplomat. I like knowing who is on my side, so that when things happen, I can use my networks so that my allies can get the help they need to do what they do. Beyond that?" She cocked an eyebrow, like a question mark on an unspoken is everything that doesn't lead to sex just 'wasting time' with you? "I was enjoying your conversation, and I enjoyed the dance. Isn't that enough?"
She wasn't going to sleep with him tonight. She didn't think of herself as prudish, but landing in bed after one evening's acquaintance seemed so crude. Ideally, she would have liked to start a friendship with him, and if the sexual tension in their flirting eventually ended them up in bed, she wouldn't mind. But if he was too self-involved to consider anything but a one-night stand, then he was right: this was a waste of their time.
