"I believe we were." Moira's smile was sweet, but forced. His comment made her begin to think that perhaps her hopes were wrong, that he was just a foolish playboy after all, uninterested in anything but himself. But even so, Iron Man was known to be a considerable force on the side of justice, which wasn't an accomplishment of someone selfish and weak-willed.
She needed to regain his attention, while still making progress toward her goals. Crossing one leg over the other, with a smile that was equal parts temptation and reprimand, she leaned in a little closer. Her attitude was a perfect pay-attention-or-I'll-bend-you-over-my-desk promise, calculated with just enough sex to catch his attention and just enough dominance to keep it. It was a gamble, but without it, she'd never catch this one.
"To be honest," she said, tone casual despite the sudden and unexplained topic, "I'd like to know which side Iron Man will be taking in the upcoming war."
