Magnus took a step forward and reached out a hand then withdrew it, shaking his head. "Foolish, you really ought to know better. It's no matter." He pulled his pocket watch from his suit jacket and examined it. "You're here, because I need you. Your sister is beyond help, but you, oh I've always had hope for you. Perhaps I was losing faith, but you've shown faith in me. That's why you aren't dead. That's why I've changed the plan, Pietro."
The watch snapped shut with a click, was returned to his pocket, and Magnus gazed at his son with his head slightly tilted. "All I've done is sown the seeds that you, yourself, planted. The ultimate revenge on your sister is to make her believe you've abandoned her. The ultimate- beautiful- irony is that I am almost convinced that you would have."
