Reed gingerly picked up the flask with the tongs, and held it steady, ready to be mixed with the blue liquid in the other flask sitting on the lab table. He slowly began to pour. Not to fast, not to slow. If he got it right, Dr. Storm would get off his back about the new age fuel he was supposed to be developing and he could get back to more important work. One mess up, though, and the results could potentially be disastrous! That's when several crashing steps resounded through the hall, causing him to spill the combined liquids all over the table and floor! The mixture ate through the table, the floor, and, most likely, through several floors beneath. Reed sincerely hoped there was no one directly under him at the moment. Nevertheless, he breathed a sigh of relief that nothing worse had happened.
Reed stood up from his chair and cracked his back. He had been sitting entirely too long in that chair. "Better go see what Ben's doing..." Reed poked his head through the door frame to see him talking to Sue.
