She glided with some divine grace, more like a butterfly than any spider Teddy had ever heard about, which was well and good because he was sure he just couldn't being himself to support flying spiders. They were kind of creepy enough without being able to flutter. Meanwhile, Hulkling lumbered more like a drunken bumblebee, twisting to watch her with childish, curious enthusiasm, like she was some childhood fantasy come to life, then bumbled his way along after her obediently. Clearly, he was built with all the power in mind for flight, but none of the finer mechanics.
Despite the bout of starstruck anxiety, Teddy really was feeling a little better now that he had someone with him, even if they were just wasting a lot of time. He had to call to ask, "Are you always out alone? I mean, doesn't that get, I don't know, hard?" and only afterward realize that she took to his company pretty easily. Maybe that was how she worked.
