Was that really a snort? Even if the sound of it was more derisive than anything else, Charlie was sure there was a real laugh in there somewhere. He let her talk, taking a long sip of his drink as he listened, eyes intent on her face. A slow, easy smile found his lips when Lina finally did laugh, even if it was at his expense. "Yeah, well, can't blame a guy for being curious," though the fracture in his nose said otherwise. "The being in your face part. Didn't think I'd gotten so close." Was he really about to apologize? No, no. No, like hell was he going to do something like that -- like hell would it even matter if he did. What was done was done.
"Ah, that. Maybe you should stay awhile, relax." Charlie lifted his glass up, eyebrows coming up with it as he smiled and took a drink. "What's got you in such a hurry to leave, anyway?" The stories were all different, mostly, it was just the trick of figuring out the why of the people. Why were they chosen? For Charlie, it was always difficult to dodge questions or statements about the hotel. He was sure in time he'd get better at it, but he was still not very good at playing things to his chest. "Either way, can't say I mind the change in scenery," his face went blank and was nearly almost a deadpan, if not for a gleam in his eyes. "Worth the broken nose."
