This post is long so here is the TL;DR rundown: Blue Block and half of Yellow Block are destroyed. Blue Block mutants are mostly being housed in Green. Yellow Block mutants are mostly being housed in Red. If you want your Blue housed in Red or your Yellow housed in Black, please comment or they will be defaulted. Multiple injuries to mutants and loss of lots of property. Plot accordingly. List of named character and NPC deaths can be found here. Humans must submit to a blood test upon returning to the island to prove they do not carry the X-gene. Phoenix, Wild Child and Mastermind are all missing. A group reaction thread is here, feel free to start individual tag lines off the main thread or start your own private one. First off, no the scenes are not entirely completed. We apologize, as I'm sure you all know, RL has a way of effing things up. However, we promised you an event today and it is going down, even if we haven't quite finished typing out all the details. David promised destruction and so, things went BOOM~! We have started a group reaction thread here and want to stress that this does not mean everyone has to tag on the same line. Multiple conversations can be going on so feel free to start a new tag line or wander from group to group as people would in such a situation.
As can be found at this and this thread, some major events have taken place on the island. First and most noticeable, Blue Block has been entirely destroyed, and just over half of Yellow Block has been laid to rubble. This destruction has resulted in a very large death toll and has obviously left dozens of mutants homeless. One of our newest NPC's, Stephan Drescher, offered a plan to prevent chaos. Effective immediately, the majority of Blue Blockers have been housed in empty cells in Green Block, the overflow and Yellow Block mutants are being housed in Red.
What does this mean for your mutant? Your character is still 'ranked' as Blue or Yellow, they are simply being housed elsewhere while the blocks are repaired and rebuilt. If you have a Blue-ranked mutant, you are free to decide if they are being held in Green or if they are among the small number of overflow placed in Red. Yellow Block mutants can be temporarily placed in Red or Black, depending on player preference.
If you want your Blue Block mutant to be housed in Red, or your Yellow Block mutant housed in Black, please comment here. Otherwise Blue Blockers will be housed in Green and Yellow Blockers in Red. Again, the preference is entirely up to the player. Keep in mind that Green Block is set up like Blue/Yellow, a sink/toilet in each room with public showers, where as Red and Black have showers in each room. This can result in some fun interactions, as Green Block is rather full so far as played characters go, so more characters will be using the same halls/cafeteria.
This destruction will result in the loss of much property and many deaths and injuries. For a complete list of deaths, please see this announcement. These deaths have also resulted in lots of new Block Owners, their information can be found at blackline_npc.
Those in Blue Block and the Yellow Blockers who had their cells destroyed will likely only have been able to save what they could grab, Yellow Blockers who did not have their rooms destroyed will be able to transfer their belongings into their new cells while the Blocks are repaired. Many characters will be lucky to have simply gotten out with their lives, so feel free to be creative about what you want to have happened to your character. Injuries from sprained ankles to bruises from falling rubble to crushed bones and being buried alive for chunks of time before being dug out of the rubble are more than possible. Have fun and evil!
It has been revealed that a "human" guest on the island was actually a mutant. Jason Wynegarde has long been a Revolve guest and the revelation of his powers has not only caused an uproar, it has resulted in a required blood test for all human guests upon arriving upon Revolve. This test requires nothing more than a prick on the finger tip which checks for the presence of the X-gene in the sample. This test needs to be done only once, but is sure to offend some of Revolve's more high-strung patrons.
In addition to the revelation about Wyngarde, the mutant Block Owner known as Phoenix, who caused the destruction of Blue and Yellow Blocks, has gone missing. While Revolve staff insists that they are searching high and low, the telepath cannot be located. Some state that it is almost like she is no longer on the planet. Wynegarde and Wild Child have also vanished, presumably hiding somewhere under fake names, using Wyngarde's illusion abilities to avoid detection. These disappearing mutants, combined with the destruction and the general unstable feeling of Revolve could give hope for and escape to those determined to gain their freedom.
You all are free and encouraged to think up and play out any other plot lines you feel would spawn from this event, you do not need to ask mod permission. Deaths of random/unnamed/unplayed mutants, guards and humans visiting their mutants can impact a character's emotional state. Perhaps your character winds up in the cell next to a rival? Have fun and go mad. Characters will be housed in the higher blocks for approximately two months, at which time repairs on the Blocks will have been completed and mutants will return to being housed in their normal color blocks. We will make a mod post when this occurs.
David will be online all day to answer questions or offer ideas for how to react to this event. You are free to IM him or post questions you think others might have here to get answers. We can also throw up a group chat if you all would like to get together and figure out how groups of characters will react. We know we made some big promises, we hope this has lived up to them! ;)
