MOST WANTED CHARACTERS
Ozma, Captain Hook, Robin Hood, and Many More!
For as long as anyone can remember, the City has always been one of the largest metropolitan centers in the world. It has had its share of glory and decline, but none so great as the age following the founding of OzCorp. Michael Ozma was no man of magic, but he might as well have been, for the technological wonders he wrought.
Today, however, the Gilded Age is long past. OzCorp, now led by Ozma's three daughters, has become corrupt, and the City has fallen from its glory days. Crime and drugs now rule the streets, though some aristocrats continue to live above it all.
Inspired by folk-lore and fairy-tales, Not So Far Away is a unique Role-Playing World that brings characters from fairytale, folklore, and mythology from around the world together into an ever-expanding universe. | 1:30p |

There's trouble brewing across the ocean... |

It's September 2010 and the world is still reeling from the news that the Dark Lord has returned. The wizarding community is on pins and needles with fear, so many helpless to stop it. Even in the US, people are going missing and the Dark Mark is appearing in the sky, albeit less frequently than across the ocean.
The Ravenscrest Academy of the Magical Arts is no exception. The school is nestled in upstate New York outside Ravens Falls, the second oldest all-wizarding area in the United States. Like all wizarding communities, there are some who are against the Dark Lord and all he stands for and there are those who would follow him unwaveringly. The atmosphere surrounding the magical world in the US is similar to the way it was during World War II, when they wait for the war to spill across the ocean and into their backyards.
Running congruent to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, if it had been set in 2010, Ravenscrest is an AU game focusing on one of the seven magical secondary schools in the United States. Not unlike the way the US was before the nation entered World War II, the war can seem some what surreal to many students, something that's happening far away and could never possibly effect them. For others, its something that effects their families, losing loved ones. Still others were waiting to do their part to assist the Dark Lord in his rise to power and his desire to cleanse the magical world from Muggle blood and to make non-magical people slaves to those with power.

metempsychosis - a modern day mythological rpg on scribbld
 | me·tem·psy·cho·sis noun \mə-ˌtem(p)-si-ˈkō-səs, ˌme-təm-ˌsī-\ Definition of METEMPSYCHOSIS : the passing of the soul at death into another body |
Think of any long-gone deity from mythology. Now imagine that they aren't truly gone but instead that their essence lives on...is reincarnated inside of that guy who sits next to you on the bus every day. Or Maureen from Accounting. Or maybe even inside of you.
The old deities once existed, once walked the Earth, and mortals trembled at their names. Long ago, they each slowly faded out, their existence only remembered as fables and tales. During this decline, one deity gathered up and called upon his or her last reserves of power and influence to create a reprieve, of sorts, for them all. They would find their essence--their souls if you will--not dissipated amongst the matter of the Universe but instead reborn inside a mortal body. The gods would be mortal, yes, their power would be greatly diminished, yes, and they might not even remember what they once were, but they would at least exist. |

 whose side are you on?
Since the beginning of time, the Knight Templars and Assassins fought each other in a secret war. No one knew of these wars, unless they were affiliated with either side. The Templars sought to bring an utopian society to the human civilization, controlling their every movement. The Assassins believed free will will reign and free will is what makes every individual. Battling in multiple cities and civilizations across time, no side is officially winning. In the year 2012, the Templars, or known as Abstergo Industries to the common eye, controls over NASA and their satellites. Their goal? They want to send out a piece of eden on a satellite on December 21st, 2012. The Assassins are dwindling in numbers and now, they're going against one of the largest corporations known to man. As technology advances, the Templars are finding Assassins much quicker than expected. They utilized cell towers to locate Assassin descendants. Now hiding underneath the city of London through sewers and underground train tunnels, the Assassins call Sanctuary their new home. Relying on their Animus 2.0, they must go back in time to search for the pieces of eden and destroy anyone associated to the Templars.
