Wedded Bliss

[info]save_a_horse
Who: Az and Jean
Where: Attendants of Aphrodite
When: Late morning

Jean had been on cloud nine for the last two days. He'd almost totally forgotten they were trapped on a cruise ship in the middle of nowhere with no idea where they were headed and if they'd ever get home. He certainly hadn't thought about the body they'd found or the murderer still on the loose. He'd even gotten used to the fact his cellphone didn't work and was never going to ring and he didn't even need to bother to wear it.

No, the perpetual worrywort was actually living in the moment for right now. But then, he was soaking in the huge spa tub in their room, with his absolutely gorgeous wife. Yes, wife. Which just made it all the more thrilling for him. He wasn't sure why, but he wasn't questioning it.

Not when he felt this good. The world might possibly explode around them and he'd not notice right now.

Will You?

[info]save_a_horse
Who: Jean and Az
Where: The Attendants of Aphrodite
When: Late morning

Jean hated being bloody useless. He would have volunteered for security or medical help, but in all honesty, once blood was involved, he was exactly that, useless. He'd volunteered for kitchen duty the last few days, since even though he couldn't cook, he could scrub up dishes and clean things. He'd been wearing Nikko out taking him for runs around the deck,

Anything but thinking about the fact they were likely doomed. Lost in the Bermuda Triangle, no crew, nothing for days and days, the sun bouncing around the sky like a ping pong ball, murders, disappearances. It was amazing they weren't all mad by now.

His thoughts weren't on all that today though. He'd been thinking about it the last few days more than ever. And kicking himself. Since he'd left the bloody ring at home. Yes, he had an engagement ring for Az. He'd wanted to ask her over Christmas, but had lost his nerve. She wasn't ready, he'd told himself. He'd wanted to give her more time, knowing she might still have some issues from that blighter Callum. At least trapped out here, they were free of that man and his stalkering. A silver lining.

He needed to do it. Even if she said no. God, please don't let her say no. It wasn't so much the situation that was making him need to do it. He should have done it before. He wasn't Callum and Az knew that. He trusted her, he loved her, and he'd never do what that bastard had. Never in a million years. And he didn't want anyone else. He'd known that for months now. He just didn't want to push her.

And well, he was afraid she'd say no. There were so many reasons she could say no for, and he'd not fault her for any of them.

Heaving out a long breath, he let Nikko back into the room. He'd already taken him on two runs today, and the poor beast was ready for a nap. In truth, Jean needed the exercise just as much. He was used to hard work day in and day out. Having nothing to do was taking it's toll in more ways than one.

"Az?" he called out as he closed the door behind him and tucked away his key. He went looking for her in the suite, knowing if he didn't do it now, he never would. And then he'd never forgive himself.

Under the...cabana

[info]save_a_horse
Who: Az, Jean
Where: Wisteria Pool
When: Afternoon
Moar: NSFW

Besides waking up to more people missing, the day hadn't actually been going that badly. Nikko was healed and had a good time frolicking with him and Molly. Jean had contented himself with doing what he could to help and well, staying close to Az so she didn't disappear. Which was a daft way to think of it, but it kept him sane.

And now, they were relaxing. Wasn't as if there was anything more to be done and hiding in their room waiting for the axe to fall was right out. He'd suggested swimming. Without Nikko. Much to Nikko's protest and whimpering, they'd gone without him.

The wisteria pool was lovely and soothing, which made it easier to forget how badly this holiday was turning out. And well, Az wet and in a bathing suit was certainly a fine distraction.

Jean pulled himself out of the pool and sat down on the edge, just watching her. He could do that for hours. Watching Az glide through the water like some sleek, gorgeous mermaid from legend.

Yes, his mind was being fanciful. Jean was allowed to indulge in silliness in his own head, thank you.

Small Miracles

[info]save_a_horse
Who: Az, Jean
Where: Attendants of Aphrodite
When: Morning

Jean hadn't woken up Az, even after he read Leto and Sean's notes. He was still in shock. People were missing. No, check that, the entire medical staff was just gone. He wanted to offer aid to the lovely woman who was asking for anyone's help who had any medical training whatsoever. He did. He knew first aid and CPR. But he knew the second there was a single bloody drop of blood, he'd be utterly useless. Best to just stay out of her way. She had enough troubles as it was without him fainting.

So he'd asked the FBI man who'd taken a head count if he needed any help. Not that he could think of anything he could do off the top of his head. But it was something. Something more than just sitting here wondering who was next. When it would stop. What else could go wrong.

Jean sprawled out next to Az, not wanting to wake her, but bloody hell, he didn't want to let go of her either. Ever. But she needed to know. She wasn't some bloody shrinking violet who needed to be coddled and protected all the time. Hell, she'd probably take this better than he was.

Besides, he had some good news as well. Nikko's leg was all better. He had no idea how or what happened, but the huge beast was bounding around on it as if it'd never even been sore. He wished he could be more pleased about it. He really did.

"Azzy," he murmured, nuzzling her cheek. "Wake up, love." This was not going to be easy.
