Jean hadn't wanted to get out of bed after that night. It'd taken him most of the next day to even want to let Az out of his arms for necessities, let alone out of his sight.
Unfortunately, the ring was back home, hidden in his bureau. It'd been there since Christmas Eve, when he'd lost the nerve to ask her then. Licenses weren't really necessary, besides, they were being married by a priest with witness. As proper as it was going to get, given the situation.
He nodded at any of her choices, realizing he too hadn't been as sociable as he could have been. Well, the idea was a vacation for the two of them. They likely needed to lose that mentality, since it wasn't that any longer and hadn't been for days.
"Whoever's fine," he agreed. "You get the witnesses and I'll speak to the priest? Then we can do it after sunset?" He was fidgeting, so giddy and wanting to get everything arranged.
Then he kissed her again, because he needed to. "I love you, Az," he told her, even though he had. He was just so happy.
