Time Goes By So Slowly...
Who: Gregory and Open to one or more
When: Midday
Where: Thalia's Diner
Gregory walked into Thalia's Diner and took in the atmosphere, so reminiscent of the diners and soda fountains that had been popular when he was young. The black and white tiled floor, the red tabletops and red-upholstered seats, Twilight Time by the Platters playing on the jukebox; it all sent a wave of nostalgia through him. Emily was right; this is my kind of place, he thought as he took a seat at the counter. After taking a quick look at the menu, he ordered a ham-and-cheese sandwich and a soft drink. "Coming right up," said the man behind the counter.
Twilight Time was nearly over, so Gregory went to the jukebox and looked over the selection while he waited for his food. It had a large selection of songs from the fifties and sixties, and a few more recent ones as well. Gregory quickly found what he was looking for and put some money in the jukebox. He made his selection and returned to the counter just as the food was ready. The beautiful sounds of Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers filled the air as he took his seat.
He and Emily were still alive and safe, and as far as he knew, there had been no more murders overnight. Despite the dismal weather outside, that made today a good day, as far as he was concerned.
