That was gonna be a tough sell as people liked their creature comforts, and their current rooms were luxurious. But they should like their lives a hell of a lot better than a pretty vase and a hot tub in the room at night. The public areas would be open to use by day, hopefully the folks knew the safety in numbers bit.
The lowest decks weren't the lowest places on the ship. Engineering and the holds were. They had to get into both eventually. But people were more important right now.
"Hey, you're in charge of security. I'm just a guy with a gun while taking my shift." Right, he had to learn to let the people who knew what they were doing do it. Sean had never been in combat. He was used to either answering to a higher SAC or government leaders, or he took over, like a bulldozer, pissing people off but getting the job done. He had trouble letting go of what he felt responsible for. He had no real idea how to deal with a whole bunch of civilians who couldn't follow sensible suggestions, and he'd tried to be politic about it and failed.
Cath had security. Sean needed to know what was being done, but he had to let go, damnit. He had things to try and organize, a killer to catch and...
And that robot head was definitely creeping him out more than it should.
