Emily laughed. "Well, he is a preacher, but no, he's not always talking to me about God, if that's what you mean. Actually, we tease each other a lot. Sometimes we even play practical jokes on each other. He's got a great sense of humor. And he has a wide variety of interests; he can talk to you about almost any topic."
"There's probably not much you can do securitywise, but you might be able to help out in other ways. Hey, do you know anything about gardening? I'm planning to take over part of the greenhouse and try to raise some crops. Chef Kevin said he would save some seeds for me."
Emily looked around the room for a place to tie Niles. It was mostly just a big, empty area, but there was a set of cabinets on one wall that contained a few extra mats. "Let's see, we could probably tie his leash to one of the cabinet handles over there." Emily guided Megan over to the cabinets so she could secure Niles. "I believe there were five more people that expressed an interest in learning self-defense, but I don't know how many of them will show up. I'm willing to teach however many show up. I hope some more show up, because the more people who know how to defend themselves, the better. But if no one else comes, I'll give you a private, one-on-one lesson."
